Welcome to the Netbreeze Navigator User Guide
In this userguide you will find insightful descriptions of all functionalities and concepts of the Netbreeze Navigator and get explanations to - hopefully - all your questions.
If you cannot find the appropriate answers neither in the Functionalities, the General Concepts nor the FAQ section, we advise you to use the search field to the left.

Functionalities
Dashboard Interface
- Boards: Boards are an easy way of storing your analysis and having them available at any time.
- Widgets: Widgets are interactive charts or document lists that are stored on a board.
Tools
- Ranking Chart: A ranking chart displays the document number for each item of the chosen category as a ranked bar chart.
- Comparison Chart: A ranking chart that compares two dimension to each other.
- History Chart: A history chart displays the document number for each item of the chosen category over time.
- Reader: The reader displays documents including their metadata sorted by publication date starting with the most recently published.
- Trends: Trends shows daily (i.e. last day compared to last 7 days) and weekly volume changes for selected categories.
- Tag Cloud: A Tag Cloud shows most frequent words for given filter .
- Alerts: An alert reports new articles matching the configuration per email to the user. The alerts tool let's you setup and configure new and existing alerts.
- Sentiment Reader*: The sentiment reader displays a list of statements with a positive or negative tonality.
- Sentiment History*: The sentiment history displays a history chart of the number of statements with positive and negative tonality.
- Flags: In the Flags Tool are all flagged documents saved and accessable.
* Please note that some features are optional and may not be available in your solution.
Filters
- Filter Editor: The filter editor is the main feature to define a data set. Since each user question might ask for a specific data set of documents, each tool allows you to use the filter editor.
Other
- Flagging can be used to mark individual documents. This allows you to make lists of hand-picked documents which can be exported.
- Data Export: You can export the results of your analysis and selected documents.
- Settings: Administrators can configure their ComMonitor, please consult the documentation within the Settings section of your ComMonitor for further details.
- Score can be used to filter documents with a specific score.
General Concepts
- Categories: Categories are used as chart dimensions to analyze the documents and can be chosen as a filter criteria as well.
- Filters: Filters let you define a subset of your database through several selection criteria like date, publisher, categories, and so forth.
- Channels: The Navigator differentiates between several kinds of data sources.
- Publishers: Every page, news-item or social media message has an entity publishing it. The Navigator assigns each document a publisher by analyzing its host or author.
- Sentiment Detection: Sentiment Detection extracts parts of sentences that have a positive or negative tonality.
